Project Description:
Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA) is a 100-year-old police training institute. It is the Alma Mater of police training in Bangladesh.It is located 20 miles from Rajshahi City. Bangladesh Police Academy is the apex training institution of the Bangladesh Police.It is responsible for providing holistic knowledge, skill and attitude in policing to produce high quality police officer that is knowledgeable, competent and professional. To achieve this mission, the Academy designs and delivers a series of need based training curricula at basic, in-service and specialized levels/courses to address and meet the needs and demands of modern policing as well as policing challenges of the globalist world.

The BPA required a comprehensive solution consisting of different systems, here are their major requirements:
Increasing terror attacks globally have occurred in the world with the growing tension among nations and geopolitical risks. On the night of 1 July 2016, five militants took hostages and opened fire in Gulshan Thana. In the immediate response, while Dhaka
Metropolitan Police tried to regain control, two police officers were shot dead by the assailants. 29 people were killed, including 20 hostages (18 foreigners and 2 locals), 2 police officers, 5 gunmen, and 2 bakery staffs. Thus, the BPA representing the national law enforcement must enhance its security level itself, and an effective system preventing dangerous goods is critical.
Apart from security inspection, a precise identity verification method that can effectively prevent illegal access is also important.Conventional verification methods including password and card could hardly verify the authenticity of the password or card holders’
identities. Since BPA highly concerns the security of the site, a truly reliable verification method of a person’s identity thus become the critical point of the security. Thus it requires a biometric verification method with unique authentication of a person’s identity.

Technical Features:
• Different accesses of the site are deployed with 25 units of F18 Access Control Fingerprint Standalone Terminal.
• All staffs and trainees are registered with their fingerprints and personal information. They are required to scan their fingerprints for biometric verification in order to obtain access rights.
• All fingerprints are read by the reader. They are only eligible to access to the areas they are authorized to after successful verification.
• 2 units of ZK-D3180S Walk-through Metal Detectors are installed at the main entrance of the Academy. All Staffs, trainees and passengers are required to be scanned by the devices to ensure that no weapons or abandoned goods are carried into the area of the Academy.
Function Description:
• F18 is an innovative biometric fingerprint reader for access control application. With high-performance firmware functions and compact design, it has become one of ZKTeco’s most popular devices.
• It is applied with ZKTeco’s latest firmware with user-friendly UI and flexible user privilege settings for multi-level management.The new hardware platform uses ZMM210 core-board with 1.2Ghz CPU.
• With optimization of both hardware platform and firmware, the new f18 is able to verify fingerprints with even higher efficiency.
• The device offers flexibility of both standalone installation and installation with any third-party access control panels which support standard Wiegand signal. TCP/IP and RS485 are also available which enable F18 to be applied in different network.
• ZK-D3180S is a walk-through metal detector with ultimately outstanding performance of metal detection, with 18 mutual over-lapping detection zones and simultaneous alarm from multi-zones, it easily detects all means of metal objects to offer full preciseness. It also has adjustable sensitivity levels from 0 to 255 to suit every customer’s needs.
