Naval History and Culture Department – Indonesian Navy Video Surveillance Solution for National Naval Museum in Indonesia

Project Description

Gedung  Dinas  Sejarah  Angkatan  Laut (Naval History and Culture Department) recently established a national naval museum located in Jakarta for the display of Indonesia’s naval history and culture. The museum carries out important historiography and documentation functions in order to collect and store historical documents. It is also expected that the museum will be able to carry out its function as a museum development so that it can display the history of the glory of the Navy. ZKTeco is honoured to be selected to provide a security solution for such a nationally glorious premise.

End User : Naval History and Culture Department, Indonesian Navy

Implementation Solution

Solution Details :

A. Security Management for the Entire Indoor and Outdoor Site

As a famous public tourist spot open to public with numerous daily visitors entitled for frees access, it would be very much impossible to set access control everywhere and verify everyone, which inevitably bring heavy administration workload to the security staffs and negative impact to the museum’s public image. However, as a critical historical space for the local history and priceless relics stored in the museum, it is important to secure them from illegal invasion which could result in significant loss. It was a challenge to deploy effective and full security protection while not affect visitors’ user experience.

Solution

Considering the limitation of deployment, ZKTeco experts proposed the most suitable solution with a video surveillance network covering the entire museum area. 12 units of ZKTeco BL-855L38S-E3 and 20 units of EL- 852o38I Video Surveillance Cameras have been installed in different places of the campus. The two models are equipped with particularly 1/2.8” and 1/2.9” Sony Starvis CMOS image sensors, the former ones with optical lens of 2.8~12mm and the latter ones with 3.35~10.05mm, which enable high-denition video capturing for different requirements of video surveillance. With their H.265+ dual-stream encoding technique, and the installed 15 units of ZKTeco Z8532NFR-16P 32-channel Network Video Recorder, 4K Ultra-HD instant video encoding and recording is supported. Furthermore, the cameras are enabled with Infrared Light Video Capturing, with long range of effective distance (BL-855L38S-E3: 80m; ELEL-852o38I: 50m) for clear video recording at night or in environments with weak light sources. Also, the two cameras are enabled with IP67 waterproof and dustproof level for proper application in outdoor applications, and 6kV surge protection level to reduce malfunction due to electrical instability. Thus, the video surveillance network is able to perform full and 24-hour effective surveillance.

B. Smart Surveillance

A real effective video surveillance is much more than just numerous cameras capturing different locations. Even if the campus is captured by 32 cameras, the museum’s security human resources, will be all required to monitor multiple screens. If it is required to have one screen per person, it would be a huge waste of resources, as the purpose of the solution deployment is to save unnecessary human resources consumption and enhance eciency of surveillance, if manual deployment is required for screen monitoring, the solution would be totally meaningless. Thus, a better solution was required and the system needed to be smarter and more efficient to assist the museum staffs to better handle surveillance.

Solution

ZKTeco AntarVis 2.0 WMS Central Security Management Software is able to connect and manage all cameras and network video recorders for central management, and have area management according to actual needs.

The system is equipped with numerous smart surveillance features, including:

• Motion Detection: Automatic recording and alarm will be triggered upon moving object detected;

• Area Invasion: Automatic recording and alarm will be triggered upon entering to specific area of any person;

• Line Crossing: Area Invasion: Automatic recording and alarm will be triggered upon crossing of specific line by any person.

In case any of the above event occurs, the system is able to automatically and instantly deliver notifications via computers and mobile devices to security staffs for prompt handling.

With ZKTeco BL-855L38S-E3 and EL-852o38I Cameras’ embedded facial recognition algorithm, the system is able to identify human faces to avoid false alarms caused by other objects.

C. Remote Monitoring and Management

Our client also wished to have higher flexibility of the surveillance of the entire site and better efficiency of human resource for security. The expected to also have tight monitoring and management of the entire site by not just staying in front of the display screens in control room, but have eyes on the critical events when they are in anywhere.

Solution

ZKTeco deployed our AntarView Pro V3.0, which is an application for Video Management on both Android 4.0 and iOS 6.0 and above systems. It enables Wi-Fi implementation on our DVR\NVR\IPC and other equipment of the network real-time image preview, remote video playback, PTZ control, real-time control and local media file management functions. It also supports Cloud platform, once logged in to cloud account, clients are enabled manage account bound device and other operations.

AntarView Pro Mobile APP supports WIFI, 3G and 4G network connection. As the camera and network video recorders are connected to the system, it is enabled to use AntarView Pro function and perform remote mobile monitoring via P2P application.

D. Extra-large Video Storage

A real effective video surveillance is also much more than just instant management, it also means the effectiveness to let security staffs to flexibly handle and obtain required records for further security surveillance and inspections. As a total number of 32 cameras were deployed for the entire video surveillance network, it also required an extra-large storage of video.

Solution

With their H.265+ dual-stream encoding technique, the latest compression standard, the cameras enable the Network Video Recorder to save videos in minimum size. We have also installed a large storage device for the system with hard drives storing up to 8TB, as much as the storage of 32 cameras for one month. The system also supports DHCP, DNS, DDNS, NTP, UPNP, RTSP, and ONVIF Profile S for higher flexibility of storage enhancement with 3rd party integration.

AntarView Pro Mobile APP supports WIFI, 3G and 4G network connection. As the camera and network video recorders are connected to the system, it is enabled to use AntarView Pro function and perform remote mobile monitoring via P2P application.
